Inspired by the trees at the Arboretum, learn how to transform intricate bark patterns into expressive, detailed drawings.
In this engaging adult workshop, led by Dr Taylor Singh, participants will closely observe the rich textures, lines, and natural variations found in tree bark, learning how to translate these elements onto paper with confidence and clarity.
Through guided exercises, you will refine your mark-making skills, exploring a variety of techniques to capture depth, texture, and tonal contrast. Discover how layering, line variation, and careful observation can bring a sense of realism, character, and atmosphere to your work.
Suitable for all skill levels, from complete beginners to more experienced artists, this workshop offers a supportive and inspiring environment to develop your artistic practice.
NatureArt Lab believe that when people engage nature through art, it fosters a deep connection and care for nature. Participants have the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and immerse themselves in art inspired by nature and the trees of the Arboretum.
The workshop will take place inside but may involve walking outside. Dress for the weather and please wear covered footwear.
