Where are the accessible parking spaces?

Village Centre and Surrounds

There are 23 designated mobility parking spaces at the main Visitors Centre carpark.

Vehicles displaying a valid disability parking permit are not required to pay for parking.  For vehicles not displaying a valid permit, paid parking applies.

The EasyPark app offers a more convenient and accessible way to manage parking during your visit, and can be accessed via mobile phone.

A 70 metre sealed ramp provides access from the carpark to Visitors Centre, The Ginger Group Cafe, The Curatoreum Gift Shop, observation decks, POD Playground and National Bonsai and Penjing Collection. We refer to this entrance ramp as ‘The Cutting’. There is a concrete bench seat at the top of the cutting, adjacent to the carpark, for companion drop-off. There is another concrete bench seat midway down The Cutting. This path is semi-sheltered from wind but exposed to sun and rain.

Margaret Whitlam Pavilion

The Margaret Whitlam car park features four designated mobility parking spaces. Please note that this car park is reserved for events at the Margaret Whitlam Pavilion and is not open to the general public. Only individuals attending events at the Pavilion are permitted to use this carpark.

Access is adjacent to the Margaret Whitlam Pavilion across a level, gravel path. The carpark and path are exposed to weather, the Pavilion is sheltered for a companion drop-off.

Guests may also use the 300 metre sealed and level path between the Village Centre and the Margaret Whitlam Pavilion. This path is exposed to weather.

EasyPark App

How EasyPark can improve your experience:

Pay remotely: Use your phone to pay for parking without needing to return to your car. The app eliminates the hassle of walking back and forth to parking meters.

Accessible for everyone: A family member or caregiver can download the app ahead of time and handle parking remotely, avoiding the need to use the parking machines.

Improved visibility: If you have low vision or wear tinted lenses, the app removes the challenge of reading parking meter screens, which can be hard to see in outdoor light.

Pay for what you use: Only pay for the time you park, offering flexibility for visitors who may tire easily or are simply having an off day.

Wide availability: The EasyPark app works at all ACT Government metered parking locations. Once the app is installed on your mobile phone, you can park effortlessly throughout the ACT.

You can download the EasyPark app before your visit or at the Arboretum site.
