Warm Trees

We invite you to embrace the winter weather and explore the popular Warm Trees at Arboretum during July.

See the forests come to life with coloured knitted scarves in the Himalayan cedar forest, the Camden white gum forest or Dairy Farmers Hill. Visit the bonsai collection to see the scarves in miniature.

Brought to you by Friends of the Arboretum in partnership with The Republic of Singapore High Commission, Warm Trees was launched on Friday 2 July by the Singapore High Commissioner His Excellency, Kwok Fook Seng and Joy Burch, Speaker of the House, ACT Government.

Singapore’s national colours of red and white can be seen throughout the site including a merlion, Singapore’s national flower the orchid and butterflies near the entry to the Village Centre. The popular annual installation is made possible with the dedication of hundreds of volunteers.

The knitting is used twice, once for this display and then washed and turned into rugs and scarves to donate to charities.

Brighten up a grey day with the whimsical colour of Warm Trees!
