National Reconciliation Week Competition Winner

Congratulations to the winner of the National Reconciliation Week competition at the National Arboretum Canberra, Mark Sanderson!

Mark will be receiving a hand woven piece of art, adorned with emu feathers by local artist Jessika Spencer.

Mark shared his experience of the barriers to reconciliation as well as the process that he hopes will ensure Australian Indigenous culture is part of everyday life.

Thank you to everyone who entered and shared their thoughts, hopes and aspirations for reconciliation – it was very heart-warming to read!

For those who missed out, don’t be discouraged, there’s another opportunity coming up for you to get your hands on a piece of art! To celebrate NAIDOC Week in November, we will be running a second exciting NAIDOC Week competition. For details, keep an eye out on our social media.
