COVID-19 - Updates

Life has changed. At least for now the way we work, socialise and exercise is quite different due to COVID-19 and the restrictions placed on public spaces in place to protect our community.

Due to these restrictions, there have been a few changes at the Arboretum.  The Arboretum CafĂ© is open seven days a week from 9am – 4pm and offers restricted reduced indoor and outdoor seating.  Take away service is also available. The Ginger Restaurant is currently closed.

The Curatoreum gift shop inside the Village Centre is also open.

All areas of the Arboretum are open to the public including the Himalayan Cedar picnic area and the POD Playground.

The Bonsai Collection, Pod Playground and Himalayan Cedar picnic area are all open. Your safety is important to us so remember; people should not gather in groups of more than ten people unless they are from your immediate household and please ensure social physical distancing and good hand hygiene whilst in public.

All guided talks and educational groups have been cancelled. Limited public events will be offered. Guided forest walks will recommence from 11 July 2020, for details, please view our What's on page.

Keeping physically fit and mentally active is important for all of us right now but so is staying safe.  The Arboretum grounds are open every day between 7am until 5:30pm and offer over 20km of walking and cycling tracks to discover. Visitors are asked to maintain appropriate social distancing when passing or overtaking.

Weddings Bells are still ringing and other small private events are permitted at the Arboretum – contact the team at Ginger Catering Events for more details.

Dogs on leash are welcome at the Arboretum (services dogs only permitted inside the Village Centre).

Rest assured, staff are busy working behind the scenes to maintain and improve the forests, gardens and infrastructure ready for the full reopening of the Arboretum.

We are busy planning an engaging public and educational program for once restrictions are lifted. Until then we ask all visitors ACT Health advice found at www.covid19.act.gov.au
