We were delighted to have Bonsai Artist in Residence Joe Morgan-Payler recently join us to share his knowledge with our volunteers and staff.

Our volunteers got up close, enjoying a hands on session of tree pruning, styling and unique tips and presentations from Joe.

Joe has studied extensively studied in Japan and with a background in design, fine arts and landscape architecture, his skills and knowledge were able to offer unique perspectives as seen through a design lens.

The National Bonsai and Penjing Collection proudly host Artist's in Residence each year. If you're interested in attending a session with an Artist in Residence, follow us on Facebook, Instagram or our Website for updates when 2025 Expressions of Interest are open.
