Sunrises to Storms and everything in between: ABC News Breakfast Goes Live at the Arboretum
On Wednesday, 26 November, the National Arboretum Canberra was host to ABC News Breakfast’s weather presenter, Nate Byrne, for a spectacular live broadcast. And what a morning it was!
As part of ABC’s “On the Road” series, Nate presented the weather live from various locations across the Arboretum, with the stunning Canberra views behind him. Tim Howard, our Acting Horticulture Manager, and Roger Hnatuik, Wollemi volunteer, both represented the Arboretum in their conversations with the ABC presenter with great knowledge, warmth and charm.
Nature put on an unforgettable show, starting with clear blue skies and a golden sunrise, shifting to double rainbows, then heavy grey clouds, thunder, lightning, showers, and then finally back to bright blue skies. All in just a few hours! Nate, a Bureau of Meteorology-trained meteorologist, embraced every twist in the weather, bringing his trademark energy and expertise to the broadcast.
Thank you to Nate and the ABC team for showcasing the beauty and unpredictability of nature - and to Tim and Roger for stepping up as wonderful ambassadors.
