Donate a garden

Give the gift of a garden at the National Arboretum Canberra.

An opportunity to establish a garden bed in the heart of Canberra, at one of the worlds' most iconic arboretums.

From the Arboretum's sweeping entrance, a zigzag path leads up through the award-winning Central Valley to the Village Centre. When viewed from above this striking shape, flanked by giant landscaped steps, forms the pattern of a leaf.

The path is lined with 24 individual gardens with a single chosen species, creating a stunning visual display of colour and texture. These gardens are a dramatic feature easily viewed from the Village Centre and across the site by one million annual visitors.

Choose your own Central Valley garden bed and watch it flourish alongside a dedicated avenue of ceremonial trees planted by world leaders and dignitaries.

Donating a Central Valley garden, builds connection and adds layers of meaning to the forests, tracks, and vistas, leaving your own legacy for future generations. For more information please read the Prospectus [opens in a new window].

Donate in your name or make a joint contribution with family and friends.

‘The National Arboretum Canberra feeds my soul and it has given me immense pleasure to sponsor a garden bed, inspired by my students and pupils in the schools where I taught and was a principal…1974-2013.

I know ‘Mrs Keller’s Number 1 Garden’ in Central Valley further enhances Canberra’s most unique and environmental organisation’.

Chair (2015-2023) , Friends of the National Arboretum Canberra
