On Tuesday 21 August 2012, the Honourable Gordon Darcy Lilo, Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands and Madam Bronwyn Lilo joined the Chief Minister Katy Gallagher MLA to plant a Casuarina cunninghamiana (River she oak) at the National Arboretum.
The River she oak is a species principally found in Australia. Other species are distributed throughout Australia, Fiji, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Samoa, amongst other countries.
The Prime Minister and Madam Lilo visited Australia to continue reinforcing the relations between our two countries.
