Visitors at the National Arboretum Canberra will be able to enjoy an extra 12km of tracks this spring 2019. The multi-use trails have been designed to ensure access to as many forests and vistas as possible for families, walkers, joggers and low impact cyclists.
The additional 12km of tracks and trails will provide access to forests not accessible by public vehicles as well as connecting with existing trails including the Bicentennial and Centennial Trail.
Already a popular jogging, cycling and dog walking venue, a total of 20km of tracks and trails will increase recreational opportunities and variety of gradients at the National Arboretum Canberra.
Ngunnawal representatives, the ACT Heritage unit, the equestrian and the cycling community were consulted during the development of the new Tracks and Trails plan.
The construction works will have minimal impact on use of existing trails. We look forward to sharing more of the National Arboretum with our visitors this coming spring.
