Guided forest walk, Sunday 17 December 2017 at 9.30am

Please note: Guided walk time has changed from 10.00am to 9.30am.

Join one of our most experienced guides and explore the Arboretum's unusual monocot trees. Monocot trees are an unconventional bunch, mainly tropical and related to lilies, orchids and grasses.

The walk will be mostly on formed trails with some cross-country. The group will meet at the Information Desk in the Village Centre and walk to the jelly palms (Butia capitata), over to the Californian fan palms (Washingtonia filifera), down through the dragon trees (Dracaena draco), across to the Chilean wine palms (Jubaea chilensis) and up the Central Valley.

The walk will end at the Village Centre where participants can purchase and enjoy a coffee together before making their way back to their vehicles. Estimated time: 2 hours plus extra for coffee and walking back to your vehicle. Bookings essential as places are limited. For information and bookings, please call 02 6207 8484 or email:

Please wear sturdy, comfortable closed shoes, a hat and sunscreen and bring drinking water.
