The Village Centre at the National Arboretum Canberra will be closed to the public from 2pm on Tuesday 27 November 2018.
It will reopen to the public on Wednesday 28th November 2018.
These school holidays, the Tumanako Maori Cultural Group will lead an exciting and dynamic workshop in association with the New Zealand High Commission as part of this years Warm Trees installation. Workshops will include singing, storytelling, instruction on how to use pois along with demonstrations of some artifacts.
Stories about Matariki, the Maori New Year, will be shared near the stunning Matariki exhibition in the Village Centre. Dancing is an expression of cultural identity and the group will perform the traditional 'kapa haka'. This is a family workshop not to be missed!
These workshops are FREE, however, please book early as places are limited. Children may not be left unattended. Warm Trees is brought to you by the Friend of the Arboretum.
