A stunning new garden at Dairy Fa rmers Hill, featuring Snow gums Eucalyptus pauciflora, sponsored by The Friends of the National Arboretum, is known as the ‘Friends Garden’.
Small shrub and grass species including correa, rhagodia, westringia and poa were chosen for their colour contrast, texture and movement, as well as their low water requirement and general hardiness. As the plants grow, they will form swathes of green along the pathway to Dairy Farmers Hill Lookout.
Opened by Trish Keller OAM, Chair of the Friends, Scott Saddler, Executive Manager of the Arboretum and a team of hard working volunteers, the garden is now open to the public to enjoy.
