Give the gift of a garden

From the sweeping entrance of the Arboretum, along the Central Valley spine leading up to the Village Centre, there are 24 individual garden beds arranged in a zig zag pattern. These Central Valley Gardens border the ceremonial tree plantings, and are a dramatic and iconic feature which can be easily viewed and reflected on from the Village Centre.

The Central Valley Gardens are now available for donation for those who are generous and passionate about the environment. These gardens contribute towards the development, preservation and growth of one of the world’s most iconic Arboretums.

A number of the Central Valley Garden beds have already been donated, leaving a lasting legacy that will be enjoyed by over 670,000 visitors every year. A commemorative plaque has been placed at the sites in recognition of the donors’ generosity.

Those who enjoy the gift of giving and appreciate the importance of preserving and protecting our natural world for future generations to enjoy, can choose from the 19 remaining Central Valley Garden beds available and watch them flourish next to trees planted by world leaders and dignitaries.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the National Arboretum Canberra and has generated strong interest. For more information or to secure your garden please contact: Alison.stewart@act.gov.au.

All gifts to the National Arboretum Canberra Fund greater than $2 are tax deductible.

‘The National Arboretum Canberra feeds my soul and it has given me immense pleasure to sponsor a garden bed, inspired by my students and pupils in the schools where I taught and was a principal…1974-2013.

I know ‘Mrs Keller’s Number 1 Garden’ in Central Valley further enhances Canberra’s most unique and environmental organisation’.
