Bonsai Pot Acquisition Prize 2020
We have received some beautiful pots and we look forward to sharing photos of them with you. Judging was scheduled for 26/03/20, however due to COVID-19 we are planning a new judging date, hopefully within the next two weeks. We will keep you informed, meanwhile thank you for your patience and understanding.*****
The Bonsai Pot Acquisition Prize is to encourage the appreciation of the art of bonsai pottery and to highlight the beauty and functionality of bonsai pots. The beauty and style of the pot adds to the aesthetics, the emotions evoked and to the way a bonsai is styled and maintained.
A selection of entered pots will be on display at the National Arboretum Canberra during Bonsai Week 2020, 23 - 29 March 2020.
Create a bonsai pot for Agonis flexuosa (as pictured), winner of the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia (NBPCA) Native Bonsai Acquisition Prize 2019. This tree was raised from a seed and nurtured for 26 years by Annalea Smith.
Tree dimensions are 850mm tree height from the soil, 850mm wide, 750mm front to back. The nebari (root flare) is 240mm wide and the trunk above the nebari is 100mm.
