Winter Wonderland Photographic Exhibition 6 August to 4 September 2016 in the Village Centre
Parisa Applegarth's photographs share rare insights into the lives of Sami reindeer herders in Lapland in the Arctic Circle. Today there are just a handful of Sami people left who still follow the old ways. Parisa's images follow the life of a Sami man living and working with the reindeer, strongly connected to the harsh environment around him, with little contact to the rest of the world.
These reindeer depend on the forest for their survival, but the forests are under pressure from logging, mining and tourism. More information about the Sami.
Open daily from 9 am until 4pm, Saturday 6 August - Sunday 4 September 2016 in the Village Centre.
