Please join us to celebrate the opening of four new gardens in the Gallery of Gardens at the Arboretum. Enjoy the new gardens - pack a picnic or buy delicious food from the Sprout Café or the gourmet BBQ, listen to live music and admire the changing autumn colours of the surrounding trees. Decorate and make a kite, or bring your own kite to fly at one of the best kite-flying spots in Canberra (kite kits are $10 each). Rare chance to buy fresh and preserved Arboretum produce at the Harvest Stall. Free face painting for the kids.

A rare opportunity to buy fresh and preserved produce straight from the Arboretum's forests and gardens. The Harvesting group of the Friends of the Arboretum have been busy collecting, drying and conserving. On sale: fig jam, pickled figs, pickled vegetables, chutneys and pickles, pesto, dried marigold petals, dried herbs and lavender and sumptuous gourds.
